Merry Christmas to you, Elizabeth. Your letter made me ache for a previous time in my life (but in a good way) and your ass made me smile. Your offerings are always a gift.
Sending heaps of hugs and best wishes for today and the year ahead. (Iāve just listened to all the amazing music and the magpies have joined in, warbling away outside my window. Happy sigh.)
Oh, magpies are such stellar birds in their dapper tuxedos! Thank you, Beth. I hope you have a beautiful Christmas day and that the New Year is filled with magical moments.
Loved the songs (I'd never heard either one!). The Tim Minchin was smart and funny, the Brandi Carlile joyous. I looked up the lyrics and was a tiny bit worried (I can never make out the words clearly in songs) but they changed that line (and yay!). Now it's one of my new favorites. The subtitle alone was golden. Merry Christmas, Elizabeth. x
Oh, gosh -- may I tell you about the width of my grin from knowing you enjoyed the two bonus songs?? I'm a lyrics person, too, (maybe it's the word-artists in us) and found these to be just the ticket this Christmas. Fun without being ridiculous, realistic without being cynical. I hope you have the most wonderful holiday, Wendy. Thank you for your uplifting comment.
