I enjoyed rereading the letter this year - and finding new things that stand out. I hope you’ll join all have a wonderful holiday - first together in six years! Merry Christmas Eve.
I'll be thinking of you this Christmas, Amy. I hope, as hard as it will be, you will find moments that glimmer with happy memories. Hugs from my coast to yours.
I can close my eyes and see all of your words being personified in your family events..... Silly things and sacred things.... All these things add up to family and Christmas love.
...the welling up at the base of your throat...yes,yes! So often and unexpected! I hold gently to those moments of the everyday sacred, the poignant, the mundane, the silly, the raucous, the absurd, the lovely. Merry Christmas, Elizabeth! Your words truly are a gift!
I really appreciate seeing you here, Susan, and I love the idea of "the everyday sacred." I wish, collectively, we could be more focused on all of that and less attracted to the substitutions we turn to for perceived contentment.
Thanks, Janice. So much of what weighs on me feels too big, so appreciating the small stuff is all I can really do. And still, I forget to do it. :) So glad to get to share a real conversation with you this season. Love and light!

Yes, yes! It's all in the mix, and it's all essential, even the tricky parts. Blessings and holiday love to you and yours, Barry!
